Liverpool have put pen to paper with rising winger Kieran Morrison, handing the 19-year-old a new four-year deal at Anfield as the club continues its summer overhaul on the flanks.

Morrison, who arrived from Manchester United's academy in 2019, has impressed sufficiently in Premier League 2 this season to warrant fresh terms. The Northern Irish prospect notched 14 goals across 18 appearances and earned a nomination for the competition's player of the year award, earning his reward with an extended contract signed at the AXA Training Centre.

The youngster has featured on Liverpool's bench during the latter stretches of a disappointing league campaign, but the Reds clearly see genuine potential in their academy graduate.

Loan Exit the Likely Path Forward

According to reporting from The Athletic, a temporary departure for the 2026/27 season represents the 'most likely' scenario for Morrison, with clubs already circling with interest. This is not, however, a case of Liverpool looking to shift him out the door for a quick sale. The club's hierarchy firmly believes Morrison possesses the talent and temperament to compete seriously for first-team football in the years ahead.

Winger Reshuffle Accelerates

Liverpool face considerable change across their attacking ranks this summer. Mohamed Salah is departing while Federico Chiesa is available for sale, forcing the club to hunt fresh talent on the flanks.

Three names had topped the Reds' wishlist: Yan Diomande, Bradley Barcola, and Anthony Gordon. That list has effectively shrunk to two, however, after Barcelona's bid for Gordon was accepted, with a medical already arranged.
