Dragusin's Spurs Future in Doubt as Rising Talent Vuskovic Circles

Radu Dragusin's prospects at Tottenham appear increasingly bleak, with a former club scout suggesting the defender should be moved on to make way for an emerging talent.

Bryan King, who previously scouted for Spurs, has backed the club to part ways with Dragusin after a season hampered by injury and a lack of first-team opportunities. The Romanian centre-back managed just five minutes of action—a brief appearance against Crystal Palace in late December—before finding himself back among the substitutes for the subsequent three matches.

The established partnership of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero has proven difficult for Dragusin to penetrate, and shows little sign of weakening. With the pair having formed the backbone of Tottenham's defence for the past couple of years, the 25-year-old faces an uphill battle to reclaim a starting berth.

King's solution involves accelerating the development pathway at the club. He believes Luka Vuskovic, the 18-year-old currently on loan at Hamburg, represents the future at the position and should be recalled to north London.

"He'd sooner be playing for Tottenham than Hamburg, believe me," King told Tottenham News. "He's doing a fine job in Germany and he'll be a very big asset to bring back and use next season."

The prospect of Vuskovic's return could spell the end of Dragusin's time in Lilywhite. King suggested that offloading the Romanian defender would represent sound business, allowing Tottenham to invest in their younger generation while recouping a transfer fee.

Vuskovic has impressed during his stint in the Bundesliga, with Spurs reportedly pleased with his progression. Though the teenager has indicated he could remain in Germany for another season, the suggestion is that if he continues his upward trajectory, a recall to Tottenham would follow.

Dragusin's minimal involvement this term—coupled with the emergence of a more promising alternative—leaves little room for optimism regarding his long-term role in Ange Postecoglou's plans. For a player signed to provide depth and competition, he has found neither, and a fresh start elsewhere may prove the most sensible outcome for all parties.
