Tottenham in advanced talks for Savinho as £60m deal gathers momentum

After a nerve-shredding final day that saw Tottenham survive the Premier League drop by just two points ahead of relegated West Ham, the club's hierarchy are determined to strengthen this summer and avoid another brush with the trapdoor.

The Lilywhites have already secured two free agents, with Liverpool's Andy Robertson confirmed as arriving on a free transfer, alongside Bournemouth's Marcos Senesi, who penned a four-year deal through to June 2030 following his medical.

Now Spurs are zeroing in on their third arrival: Manchester City winger Savinho. According to reports, Tottenham are in active negotiations with the Sky Blues over a transfer fee hovering around £60m, with talks currently focused on structuring the deal to include add-ons and performance bonuses.

The Brazilian winger was keen on a move to North London twelve months ago, before City convinced him to stay and sign fresh terms last September. However, Savinho remains attracted to the prospect of joining Tottenham, with few obstacles anticipated on the player's side once the two clubs reach agreement on the fee.

City previously blocked a move last summer when demanding as much as £70m, but those asking prices appear to have shifted as discussions progress between the clubs.

Beyond Savinho, Tottenham harbour hopes of landing Brighton centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke. Two previous bids have already been rejected by the Seagulls, though the Spurs remain optimistic a third approach could prove successful.

The club's recruitment plans don't end there, with further signings planned as conversations with additional targets continue.
