Spurs Chase Savinho Revival as Four January Targets Emerge

Tottenham may dust off their interest in Premier League winger Savinho come January, with the Manchester City star potentially becoming available should Pep Guardiola's side pursue additional attacking reinforcements.

The Lilywhites have endured a frustrating campaign thus far, languishing 13th in the top flight, though their 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday has reignited hopes of salvaging a Champions League push. A positive result against Brentford on Thursday could propel them as high as seventh.

With the January window approaching, Tottenham are keen to strengthen the squad and give manager Ange Postecoglou a genuine shot at turning the season around. The north London club had previously targeted Antoine Semenyo before Manchester City got there first—a sobering reminder that not every target falls into their lap.

Spurs attempted to prise Savinho away from the Etihad during the summer but drew a firm rebuff. The Brazilian, who has penned fresh terms with City, remains a peripheral figure in Guardiola's plans with just four Premier League appearances to his name this term. Should City land a winger of their own in January, Tottenham's pursuit could be reignited.

Beyond Savinho, the Spurs recruitment department has compiled an intriguing shortlist. RB Leipzig's teenage sensation Yan Diomande, currently representing Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations, represents an exciting prospect. The winger is in his debut German season and unlikely to depart mid-campaign, though his profile—youth combined with genuine promise—fits the mould favoured by Premier League elites willing to splash serious cash.

Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz, the 20-year-old Turkish talent, also features prominently on Tottenham's wishlist. Agent Jorge Mendes is actively drumming up interest in the highly-regarded wide man, with several top-six clubs circling.

Monaco's versatile attacking midfielder Maghnes Akliouche rounds out the quartet. Tottenham held interest in the player last summer, and he impressed emphatically against them in Champions League action. That experience has done little to dampen their enthusiasm.

The reality, however, is that securing top targets grows increasingly difficult. As one observer noted, Semenyo's apparent move elsewhere—whether to City or Liverpool—serves as a reality check for those harbouring notions that Spurs can simply cherry-pick any player they fancy.
