Spurs Eye Twin Raid on Man City as Trafford and Savinho Deals Take Shape

Tottenham's summer recruitment drive is gathering pace, with the club now plotting a two-pronged assault on Manchester City's squad as Roberto De Zerbi looks to reshape his side.

Having already secured Andy Robertson from Liverpool and Marcos Senesi from Bournemouth on free transfers, Spurs are zeroing in on a pair of Etihad stars. The first is Savinho, the winger who has been a long-standing target. The second? England international goalkeeper James Trafford, available for around £40m.

Trafford's pathway to regular football at City has been blocked by the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma, leaving the 23-year-old as a peripheral figure under Pep Guardiola this past season. With his opportunities limited, the shot-stopper is primed for a move away, and City have made clear they will entertain offers. The Trafford deal would effectively replace Vicario, who himself is the subject of significant speculation regarding a potential departure this summer. However, Spurs face a three-way tussle for the goalkeeper's signature, with Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Leeds United all circling.

On the Savinho front, negotiations between the two clubs are progressing. The winger, valued in the region of £60m, was reportedly ready to make the switch to Tottenham a year ago before pledging his future to City. That attraction has resurfaced, with both player and club now aligned on a move. The sticking point remains the transfer fee, with City and Spurs still haggling over the finer details. Sources suggest the deal could be concluded relatively swiftly once financial terms are settled, with Savinho's willingness to join removing a significant obstacle from the equation.
