Davies Among Seven Candidates as Spurs Scramble for Interim Boss After Tudor's Exit

Igor Tudor's brief and turbulent spell at Tottenham has come to an end, with the club confirming his immediate departure following a calamitous six-week tenure that saw the manager win just one, draw one, and lose five of his seven matches in charge.

The damage inflicted during Tudor's time has left Spurs languishing in 17th place, precariously perched just a single point above the drop zone with West Ham occupying 18th. Nottingham Forest have stretched clear two points ahead of the beleaguered north London side in the Premier League table.

The official club statement thanked Tudor for his efforts whilst also acknowledging recent personal tragedy in his life. Goalkeeping Coach Tomislav Rogic and Physical Coach Riccardo Ragnacci departed alongside him. The announcement promised further updates on a replacement would follow in due course.

According to football.london's Alasdair Gold, Spurs are moving quickly to fill the void, with the expectation that a new head coach will be installed within the next couple of days. The timeline is deliberately tight—the club wants their new boss in situ before the international break concludes, allowing a full ten days of preparation before the trip to Sunderland. The search has spawned an intriguing shortlist. Sean Dyche, recently dismissed by Nottingham Forest, has been linked despite dismissing the speculation with characteristic humour, yet The Telegraph identifies him as one of seven potential interim candidates. Former Spurs managers Harry Redknapp, Glenn Hoddle, and Tim Sherwood are all in contention, as is ex-assistant Chris Hughton. The club have also made enquiries regarding Ali Hutter, the former Monaco coach.

Perhaps most unusually, Ben Davies—the club's long-serving defender with 363 appearances for Tottenham—is being considered as a player-manager option.

Mauricio Pochettino has naturally attracted speculation regarding a second Spurs stint, but that prospect is ruled out for this season given his commitment to manage USMNT at the World Cup. Roberto De Zerbi, the former Brighton and Marseille manager, is understood to harbour ambitions of the permanent role but has indicated he won't step in whilst the club battles relegation.
