Tottenham to Name Tudor's Successor Within Days as Crisis Deepens

Igor Tudor's brief and troubled spell at Tottenham has come to an end, with the club confirming his departure by mutual consent on Sunday following a disastrous six-week tenure.

The Croatian's time in North London proved catastrophic from the outset. Across seven matches, Tudor managed just one victory and a draw, losing five others—a record that has left Spurs languishing in 17th position, clinging to safety by a single point ahead of West Ham. Nottingham Forest now sit two points clear of the White Hart Lane side in the Premier League standings.

Tottenham's official statement confirmed Tudor's exit with immediate effect, noting that goalkeeping coach Tomislav Rogic and physical coach Riccardo Ragnacci have also departed. The club acknowledged Tudor's recent personal bereavement and extended their support to him during this difficult period.

However, there is no time for prolonged mourning. Spurs insiders have revealed the club expects to have a new head coach in position within the next couple of days. The priority is getting fresh management installed before players return from international duty, allowing a crucial ten-day window for the new boss to work with his squad ahead of the trip to Sunderland.

Assistant coach Bruno Saltor remains at the club and will oversee training for the handful of Tottenham players currently at Hotspur Way.

The speculation surrounding potential successors has already begun in earnest. Sean Dyche, recently dismissed by Nottingham Forest in February, has been mooted as a possibility, though he dismissed such talk last week. Mauricio Pochettino remains a bookmakers' favourite, but his availability is questionable given his commitment to managing USMNT at the World Cup. Roberto De Zerbi, another leading candidate, has apparently ruled out taking charge of a side battling relegation.

This leaves Tottenham likely hunting for another interim solution. Ryan Mason, who has twice stepped into the breach before, features prominently in discussions, as does Harry Redknapp.

Yet former Tottenham scout Bryan King has thrown his weight behind Chris Hughton, arguing the ex-Spurs assistant to Martin Jol possesses the knowledge and pedigree required for such a monumental task.

"I worked with Chris at Tottenham and he was Martin Jol's assistant," King told Tottenham News. "He's very knowledgeable and he's a Spurs man. The situation isn't simply about the manager—they need someone capable of extracting a reaction from the players, and that's crucial."

King believes Hughton's first order of business must be restructuring the backroom, suggesting the dysfunction extends well beyond the technical area. "Chris' first job would be to sort out the back room, that's as much of a problem as on the pitch," King explained. "He'll have to come in as manager and help restructure the club in a massive overhaul."

Whether it's Hughton or another candidate, one thing is certain: Tottenham requires nothing short of a complete reset to avoid the unthinkable.
