Levy Moves to Exit Spurs Majority Stakeholder ENIC with £7bn Group Deal

Daniel Levy appears to have taken the next logical step in his separation from Tottenham, with reports suggesting he has agreed to offload a substantial chunk of his stake in ENIC—the club's parent company.
The former Tottenham executive chairman, who stepped down from his position in late 2025, is said to have accepted an offer from Eight Sports Capital to purchase 24.99% of his ENIC holding. The investment group claims a valuation of £7bn and counts among its members Taiwanese financier Richard Tsai, alongside Wing Fai Ng and Brooklyn Earich, both of whom have previously attempted to acquire the north London club.
Eight Sports Capital issued an official statement confirming the arrangement: "We are delighted to have signed this agreement to acquire a significant stake in ENIC. We look forward to working with the club's shareholders, management, staff, players and fans to support Tottenham Hotspur's continued growth and success."
Should the transaction proceed as announced, Levy's remaining interest in ENIC would shrink to just 4.88%—a dramatic departure from his long-standing position at the helm of the Lilywhites.
However, a cloud of uncertainty hangs over the deal. Journalist Ben Jacobs reported that whilst Eight Sports Capital insists an agreement has been formally signed, neither Tottenham nor Levy have publicly confirmed the transaction. Club sources remain divided on whether the arrangement has actually been completed, with some officials appearing unaware of the specifics.
The Daily Mail's Mike Keegan noted that Tottenham officials and representatives of the Lewis family—who control ENIC—were understood to be scrambling to verify the claims, which were circulated via a press release distributed by global communications firm Sodali. Representatives for Levy were also approached for comment.
The announcement comes amid sustained speculation about potential takeover interest in the club following Levy's departure from his executive chairman role.
