Tottenham Part Ways with Igor Tudor as Relegation Battle Intensifies

Tottenham have confirmed the end of Igor Tudor's tenure at the club, with both parties agreeing to terminate his contract with immediate effect.

The Croatian boss's brief stint in N17 came to an end following the side's capitulation to Nottingham Forest before the international break. Igor Jesus, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Taiwo Awoniyi were on target as the visitors ran out 3-0 victors, leaving Spurs staring down the barrel of a relegation scrap.

Tudor's record since taking over from Thomas Frank earlier this season reads like a damning indictment: seven matches, one victory, one draw, and five defeats. That loss to Forest has dragged Tottenham down to 17th in the table, precariously positioned just a single point clear of West Ham in the drop zone, with Forest now sitting two points ahead of them.

The club released a statement confirming the departure: "We can confirm that it has been mutually agreed for Head Coach Igor Tudor to leave the Club with immediate effect. Tomislav Rogic and Riccardo Ragnacci have also left their respective roles of Goalkeeping Coach and Physical Coach. We thank Igor, Tomislav and Riccardo for their efforts during the past six weeks, in which they worked tirelessly. Sources suggest Tudor himself made the decision to step away following the recent passing of his father, Mario, with both the manager and club finding common ground on the split.

The search for a replacement is already underway, though Tottenham face considerable hurdles in attracting top talent to a sinking ship. Sean Dyche has been mooted as a potential firefighter option, though the former Burnley manager would reportedly demand security beyond the current campaign.

Roberto De Zerbi remains the standout candidate in the longer term, though securing him in the immediate future appears unlikely. The former Brighton and Marseille tactician is understood to be a prime target for a permanent appointment come summer, but his involvement now depends entirely on Spurs' ability to preserve their Premier League status. De Zerbi is not anticipated to take the job this season, with his eventual move conditional on Tottenham avoiding the drop.
