De Zerbi Ready to Raid Roma for Svilar and Pellegrini if Spurs Survive

Roberto De Zerbi has made it clear he will leave no stone unturned in pursuit of two Serie A stars should Tottenham secure their Premier League survival.

The Italian manager has made an impressive start to his Spurs tenure, collecting two wins and a draw across four matches to lift the north London outfit out of the drop zone and above West Ham. His five-year contract underlines the club's commitment to backing him in the long term, and De Zerbi is already plotting his summer recruitment strategy.

According to journalist Enrico Camelio, the Tottenham boss is eyeing a double swoop on Roma, with goalkeeper Mile Svilar and midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini both in his crosshairs.

Svilar has been one of Serie A's standout keepers this season, racking up 16 clean sheets – second only to Jean Butez – while maintaining an impressive save percentage of 78.3 per cent, the third-best in the division. For a club long searching for a suitable successor to Guglielmo Vicario, the Roma stopper represents a significant upgrade.

Pellegrini, operating primarily from attacking midfield, has chipped in with seven goals and four assists across all competitions this campaign, showcasing his attacking prowess.

Spurs were already monitoring Svilar back in January when Thomas Frank was in charge, and the pursuit has remained on the radar through two managerial changes. The goalkeeper carried a £60million valuation at that point – a fee deemed unlikely to trouble English clubs – and had attracted interest from Manchester United, Chelsea, Inter Milan, and AC Milan alongside Tottenham.

De Zerbi's determination to land both players suggests the club will remain persistent in their efforts, regardless of competition. The situation could well be simplified if Vicario's reported move to Inter Milan materialises, removing one potential rival for Svilar's signature in the process.
