Chelsea's spending spree shows no signs of abating. Since Todd Boehly took the reins at Stamford Bridge in 2022, the club has invested £1.5billion across 37 first-team additions, and the co-owner appears determined to continue that trend.

With Liam Rosenior's side chasing a Premier League top-four finish and eyeing Champions League glory, Boehly has turned his attention to Real Madrid's Rodrygo ahead of the summer window. Spanish media reports suggest the Chelsea supremo is convinced the Brazilian winger could become a fan favourite at the Bridge.

According to the coverage, preliminary discussions have already taken place. Rodrygo's representatives have met with Chelsea officials, with the most recent talks occurring in London just a week prior to the reports emerging. Boehly apparently views the 26-year-old as the ideal figure to lead Chelsea's attacking ambitions under Rosenior's management.

The winger's situation at the Bernabéu has become increasingly untenable. A combination of injury setbacks and the arrival of Alvaro Arbeloa has left Rodrygo starved of opportunities, managing just six LaLiga starts and two Champions League appearances this season. His plight remained unchanged under predecessor Xabi Alonso, who departed in January.
