Tottenham Board Ready to Abandon Tudor Plans if Results Don't Turn Around

Tottenham's patience with Igor Tudor is already being tested, with the club's decision-makers prepared to tear up their original blueprint if performances don't improve in the coming weeks.

The former Juventus manager is barely a month into his Spurs tenure, yet the north London outfit have given little cause for optimism. Defeats to Arsenal, Fulham, and Crystal Palace have done little to arrest their slide, with the Palace result coming at a particularly damaging moment—West Ham had just closed to within a single point of Spurs after beating Fulham midweek.

Tudor was initially brought in on a short-term contract to stabilise the ship until summer, allowing the club breathing room to assess longer-term managerial targets and potential boardroom restructuring. However, insiders suggest that plan is now fluid. The board are reportedly 'willing' to abandon this strategy should results continue to disappoint, leaving the door open for another managerial switch before the campaign concludes.

The club are already casting their net for potential successors, with Robbie Keane identified as a leading candidate should Tudor's position become untenable. The former Spurs striker has emerged as a serious contender to take the reins.

According to analysis from Football Insider, Tottenham may find themselves with no choice but to act if they slip into the bottom three. Commentator Pete O'Rourke explained that whilst a managerial change would hardly be ideal—particularly given Tudor's recent appointment—circumstance could force the club's hand.

"They brought in Igor Tudor as a firefighter to get them out of trouble," O'Rourke said. "He had a tough start with Arsenal first up, then lost to Fulham. As long as results aren't coming, pressure builds on the manager."

The Palace encounter loomed large precisely because of West Ham's proximity in the table, with Nottingham Forest also picking up a valuable point against Manchester City. Tudor hasn't shied away in his media duties, speaking candidly about Spurs' predicament, but words count for little without points on the board.
