Victor's apologetic wave and subsequent request for medical attention spoke volumes.

Forest's predicament runs deeper than one afternoon's misfortune. Dyche's strategy demands perfection—clinical finishing from limited opportunities and watertight defending. Fail on either count and defeat becomes inevitable. Morgan Gibbs-White, Omari Hutchinson (£37.5m from Ipswich in summer), and Elliot Anderson offer genuine attacking talent, yet they're shackled by a system designed purely to suffocate rather than create.

Villa's unlikely title push—or more realistically, their Champions League aspirations—received a timely boost, leaving them three points adrift of Arsenal ahead of the Gunners' evening fixture. For Forest, it's four consecutive defeats, and only the presence of three sides below them prevents genuine relegation alarm. A West Ham visit looms next, with the stakes rising considerably should another loss materialise.
