Pierre Sage Takes Reins at Crystal Palace on Three-Year Deal

Crystal Palace have officially unveiled French boss Pierre Sage as their new manager, penning a three-year contract to take the helm at Selhurst Park following Oliver Glasner's departure.

The 47-year-old arrives fresh from an impressive tenure with RC Lens, where he delivered the club's maiden Coupe de France triumph and steered them to a second-place Ligue 1 finish—earning only their fourth Champions League qualification in the club's history.

Palace finished a disappointing 15th last season under Glasner, who confirmed back in January he would not be extending his stay. Sage now faces the task of revitalising the South London outfit's fortunes.

"It's amazing to be here at Crystal Palace," Sage told the club's media. "I am excited by the history of the club, and by recent seasons. Oliver Glasner achieved some amazing things and now I have to do the same. That's why we come here with a lot of ambition."

Under Glasner's watch, Palace remarkably became the third English side in four years to capture the Conference League crown, following in the footsteps of West Ham and Chelsea.

Sage is keen to maintain that winning mentality as he embarks on his new challenge. "The dynamic here is really positive and we are in this mindset too," he explained. "We won last year – and we want to continue in this way, in a new club, a new project, but with a lot of winning habits.

"We want to give our best every day for the team, for the club, for the people, and especially for the fans, because when you love a club in England, it's for all your life."

The Frenchman brings considerable pedigree to the role. Before his success at Lens, Sage spent two seasons as manager of Olympique Lyonnais, where he guided the club to Europa League qualification and a Coupe de France final appearance. He has also held assistant positions at Lyon-Duchere and Red Star.
