Mendes Orchestrates €130m Vitinha Raid as Madrid Prepares for Klopp Era

Real Madrid are bracing for sweeping changes this summer, with manager Alvaro Arbeloa facing the axe after a second consecutive trophy-less campaign. A disappointing 1-1 stalemate at Real Betis on Friday has left Los Blancos trailing Barcelona by eight points in the league, whilst their Champions League journey ended in heartbreak at the quarter-final stage courtesy of Bayern Munich.

The Spanish giants are eyeing a managerial overhaul, and Jurgen Klopp has emerged as the prime candidate to take the reins. Florentino Perez is also weighing up alternatives in Mauricio Pochettino, Zinedine Zidane, and Didier Deschamps.

Should Klopp arrive at the Bernabeu, his first port of call appears to be bolstering Madrid's midfield. According to reports from Spain, PSG's Vitinha is firmly in the frame—and super-agent Jorge Mendes is the driving force behind the potential move. The 26-year-old Portuguese midfielder, who finished third in the 2025 Ballon d'Or voting, is said to have welcomed the prospect of a switch to Madrid, though he won't agitate for an exit from Paris.

Mendes has reportedly approached PSG to gauge their willingness to negotiate, and Madrid's hierarchy rate Vitinha highly as a solution to their midfield woes. However, prying him away from the French capital won't come cheap. The Parisians are demanding a hefty €130million (£113m) for their prized asset.

The midfield search extends beyond Vitinha, with Real Madrid also tracking Enzo Fernandez—who has publicly expressed his desire to join the club—and Liverpool's Alexis Mac Allister, whom the Reds appear increasingly open to selling.

On the outgoing front, Eduardo Camavinga is attracting Liverpool's attention, whilst Manchester United have cast an eye over Aurelien Tchouameni, though Madrid intend to tie the Frenchman down with fresh terms. Between the sticks, Klopp is reportedly keen to bring in a long-term successor to Thibaut Courtois, with Freiburg's Noah Atubolu among the candidates.

Additional targets linked with a move to Spain include Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz and Borussia Dortmund's Nico Schlotterbeck, should Klopp assume control at the Bernabeu.
