But it was Marca's Thursday bombshell that truly grabbed headlines: a training ground incident between Tchouameni and Valverde had sent the latter to hospital.

Real Madrid confirmed Valverde suffered a traumatic brain injury but is now in good condition at home. The midfielder's own 425-word statement provided his version of events, explaining that frustration and fatigue boiled over during a training-ground disagreement. Crucially, he stressed that neither player landed blows on the other. Instead, he revealed he accidentally struck a table during the argument, resulting in a forehead cut that warranted a hospital visit.

Now, messages purporting to come from Tchouameni have surfaced on social media, offering his perspective. According to the posts, the midfielder insisted: "I didn't punch him, that's not true." The leaked DMs also contained the line "His head hit the ground," suggesting Valverde's injury came from contact with the floor rather than from Tchouameni.

Valverde's statement painted a picture of a player at the end of his tether.
