Klopp 'Agrees' Real Madrid Switch with Nine-Man Transfer Wish List

Jurgen Klopp has reportedly given the nod to become Real Madrid's next manager, and he's wasting no time in sketching out his summer shopping plans.

The German tactician has been in the wilderness since departing Liverpool at the close of the 2023/24 season, citing burnout after nine years in the Merseyside hotseat. Since then, he's carved out a role as Red Bull's Global Head of Football from the start of 2025, though he's remained characteristically evasive when quizzed about a potential managerial comeback.

Real Madrid are preparing to move on from Alvaro Arbeloa following a disappointing campaign that saw them surrender La Liga and crash out of the Champions League. With the 58-year-old Klopp apparently ready to take the reins at the Bernabéu, there's been no shortage of speculation about his plans for the transfer market.

One Spanish outlet claims Klopp has identified nine departures and arrivals he reckons will transform the squad. The outgoings are said to include Dani Carvajal, who'll depart on a free transfer, whilst Eduardo Camavinga is earmarked for a substantial sale. To fill those gaps, Klopp has supposedly zeroed in on three marquee targets: Nico Schlotterbeck, Enzo Fernández, and Kenan Yildiz. According to the report, these signings would shore up positions crying out for reinforcement—areas where the current squad either lacks depth or hasn't hit the required standard.

The report suggests all three would command hefty fees and present a considerable challenge for Florentino Pérez's wallet, but insists they'd represent a genuine step forward for the club.
