Klopp Strikes Deal with Real Madrid as Allegri Demands Modric and Rabiot Signings

Following Xabi Alonso's dismissal in early January after the Spanish Super Cup final defeat to Barcelona—with whispers of player discontent over his tactics—Los Blancos have already moved on from interim successor Alvaro Arbeloa, despite the former defender only recently taking the helm.

Jurgen Klopp has emerged as the frontrunner in the bookmakers' odds and appears to have made significant progress in negotiations. The former Liverpool manager, currently Head of Global Soccer at the Red Bull group, has reportedly reached an 'agreement to coach' Real Madrid from the start of next season, contingent on specific demands being met.

According to reports emanating from Spain, Klopp is insisting on the arrival of an elite playmaker to orchestrate Madrid's midfield. His shopping list includes Adam Wharton, Alexis Mac Allister, Vitinha, and Enzo Fernandez as potential targets. Simultaneously, the German wants to move on from players he deems incompatible with his vision.

Dani Carvajal, the club captain, finds himself under scrutiny. Despite his status and experience, the right-back's advancing years and recurring injury troubles have raised concerns about his long-term availability. Eduardo Camavinga, meanwhile, is viewed as misaligned with Klopp's intended midfield structure, particularly if a creative focal point arrives.

However, Klopp's path to the Bernabéu isn't entirely clear. Massimiliano Allegri has now entered the conversation, with Florentino Pérez reportedly considering the Italian for what would be his third approach in seven years, following two previous rejections. The AC Milan boss isn't about to accept without conditions of his own.

Allegri's demands are notably specific. He wants to bring Luka Modric into his backroom staff in a tactical and dressing room advisory capacity—a role the Croatian could transition into should he decide his playing days are finished. Beyond that, Allegri is insisting that Adrien Rabiot becomes Real Madrid's first significant summer signing, with the midfielder moving from his current club to join the Spanish giants.
