Olise Snubs Real Madrid 'Circus' to Commit Bayern Future

Michael Olise has made his position clear: he intends to remain at Bayern Munich and has no interest in joining Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid project.

The Spanish club, embarking on their first season under Mourinho after two trophyless campaigns, have been aggressively pursuing the French winger's signature. Madrid have already secured Ibrahima Konate, Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva and Denzel Dumfries this summer, with Enzo Fernandez on their radar as they attempt to restore their standing.

Kylian Mbappe has reportedly championed Olise as a prime target for his new employers at the Bernabéu, keen to reunite with a fellow France international. Yet the Bayern star has grown weary of the relentless speculation.

According to reports, Olise views the constant Madrid linkage as an unwelcome distraction—particularly given his reputation as one of football's most private and performance-focused characters who eschews the media spotlight. The timing of the pursuit, during a critical World Cup campaign, has only deepened his frustration with what he considers a heavy-handed recruitment strategy from an institution increasingly concerned with controlling the narrative.

Bayern have responded decisively. The Bavarian giants are preparing to open contract discussions immediately following the World Cup, with an eye toward extending Olise's existing 2029 deal through to 2031.

The financial terms being discussed represent historic territory for the club. Bayern are prepared to offer a £25 million signing bonus alongside a weekly salary of approximately £600,000—roughly £31.2 million annually. These figures dwarf his current earnings and are designed to elevate him toward the club's highest earners whilst simultaneously closing the door to any future temptation from Madrid or Liverpool.

The club recognises that their traditional appeal alone no longer guarantees retention of elite talent when the Premier League and continental rivals come calling. Retaining generational players increasingly demands financial packages that exceed standard market valuations.

Journalist Christian Falk has corroborated the club's ambitions, reporting that Bayern intend to nearly double Olise's wages as part of their retention strategy. Currently earning around €15 million annually—below the level of Harry Kane or Jamal Musiala—Olise would move closer to €25 million per year under the proposed terms.

The rationale from Munich's hierarchy is straightforward: Olise has transformed into one of Europe's most valuable assets since his €50 million transfer from Crystal Palace.
