Spanish outlet RAC1 has now effectively put the nail in the coffin, reporting that Rashford is surplus to requirements at Barcelona unless they fail to land a striker to fill the Robert Lewandowski void. The Catalan giants appear to view Anthony Gordon—the Newcastle winger they're closing in on—as a superior fit, particularly regarding the defensive graft and pressing intensity that Hansi Flick demands.

The Barcelona hierarchy have been making noise about renegotiating terms or arranging another loan deal, but Manchester United are having none of it. The Red Devils' stance remains firm: the buyout clause represents excellent value, and they're not interested in welcoming Rashford back to Old Trafford under any circumstances.

As Barcelona's plans become clearer, the English market is starting to circle. Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Tottenham have reportedly been in discussions about a potential summer swoop. While Rashford's preference remains a continuation with Flick's project, that door appears increasingly closed.
