Diomande Set for Summer Scramble as United, Spurs and Liverpool Circle Leipzig Star

The race for Yan Diomande's signature will intensify dramatically come summer, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, with Manchester United, Tottenham and Liverpool all preparing to make their moves for the RB Leipzig winger.

The Spanish club's hierarchy have made their position crystal clear: the 21-year-old is going nowhere in January. Despite United dispatching scouts repeatedly and Spurs preparing a substantial financial package to tempt Leipzig into an immediate deal, the Bundesliga outfit remain unmoved. Having already cashed in on Benjamin Sesko, Lois Openda and Xavi Simons during the previous window, they're not in the business of shifting more assets mid-season.

"The player will stay in January, but in the summer it will be a crazy battle," Romano explained on his YouTube channel, highlighting the intensity of interest that will emerge once the transfer window reopens.

Oliver Mintzlaff, Leipzig's managing director, reinforced the club's resolve when discussing Diomande's future. "With such a young player that we just signed from Spain's Leganes last July, you can't give him away after just one year," he stated. "As chairman of the supervisory board, I would say that he will still be there next season, even if an offer of €80million or €90m comes."

When summer arrives, however, all bets are off. United's scouting network remains active, Tottenham have demonstrated their willingness to spend, and PSG are tracking developments closely. Liverpool, meanwhile, appear to be gearing up for a formal approach, viewing Diomande as a long-term successor to Mohamed Salah and a strategic fit for their evolving tactical setup.

The Merseyside club face a significant hurdle, though. Leipzig have informed all interested parties that negotiations will only commence at €100m—approximately £86m—a hefty asking price that reflects both the player's potential and the club's reluctance to sell. Diomande himself has made his admiration for Liverpool clear, having publicly stated his desire to play at Anfield and his status as a Reds supporter, which could prove a decisive factor in any summer negotiations.
