Ederson's Medical in New York Set to Complete Man Utd's First Summer Signing; Hall Talks Ongoing

Manchester United are on the verge of securing their opening transfer of the summer window, with Atalanta midfielder Ederson set to complete formalities imminently. The Brazilian playmaker will undergo his medical examination in New York on Sunday, paving the way for his move to Old Trafford.

Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sport broke the news that Ederson's medical is scheduled following Brazil's fixture against Morocco. Once he passes the examination, the 1999-born midfielder will be able to formally commit to United. The deal has been wrapped up for roughly a month, with the fee standing at €45 million—a package agreed to pip Atletico Madrid to the punch.

Ancelotti called up Ederson to replace the injured Wesley and the midfielder is currently representing Brazil at the World Cup. With the medical imminent, only administrative signatures remain before the transfer is rubber-stamped.

Yet the Red Devils are hardly finished shopping. The club intends to bolster their squad with at least one additional midfielder, a left-back, and a left-winger. There's also speculation that United might stretch their budget further to accommodate a centre-back or striker.

Hall Remains on the Radar

Newcastle's Lewis Hall sits high on United's defensive wishlist, with transfer guru Fabrizio Romano confirming that the club has maintained consistent contact with those representing the left-back.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano stated that United rekindled dialogue with Hall's representatives over recent days. The initial approach came weeks earlier, and United's admiration for the player is genuine. Hall represents one of several targets being pursued as United reshape their squad.

Romano emphasised that whilst midfield remains the priority—with Ederson's arrival already confirmed—United will continue their hunt for a second midfielder following the Brazilian's signing. The left-back position is equally crucial to their summer blueprint, with Hall firmly on their radar as a player the club "really, really love."
