Manchester United Circle Bundesliga Winger as INEOS Eye Vasco Striker with Adriano Comparisons

Manchester United have RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande firmly on their radar, with the Bundesliga winger attracting serious interest from the Old Trafford hierarchy as they plot their next moves in the transfer market.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that United are "really interested" in the Ivorian talent, though a January departure from Leipzig looks unlikely. The Red Bull Group club are determined to resist any winter sale, meaning any deal would more likely materialise in the summer window.

"Leipzig will do their best to keep the player in January," Romano explained. "So eventually it could be a move for the summer, or in order to make it happen in January, they need to convince Leipzig. And it's never easy with Red Bull Group."

The competition for Diomande is fierce. Tottenham, PSG, and several other Premier League clubs are all tracking the situation, with Romano suggesting the eventual price tag will be substantial. "I don't think €60m or €70m is going to be enough to convince Leipzig," he stated, indicating that Leipzig will demand considerably more to part with their prized asset.

United's interest in attacking talent extends beyond Germany. Spanish journalist Eduardo Burgos has revealed that the club are also monitoring Vasco da Gama's Rayan, a Brazilian forward who has drawn comparisons to Adriano. AC Milan and several Saudi Arabian clubs are similarly keeping tabs on the situation, though Vasco have set his buyout clause at €80m—a price that makes an immediate switch improbable.

"A move now seems more than complicated," Burgos wrote, suggesting summer represents a more realistic timeframe for interested parties.

This all comes against a backdrop of mixed fortunes on the pitch. United's summer spending exceeded £200m as INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe backed manager Ruben Amorim's vision, yet results have remained frustratingly patchy. Eight wins from 19 Premier League matches leaves them sixth, sandwiched between Liverpool above and a congested mid-table below—just three points separating them from fourth.

Yet Amorim appeared notably cautious about January activity during Friday's press conference. "The transfer window is not going to change," he said. "We have no conversations at this moment to have any change in the squad. There's a process, there's an idea that is going to continue."

The manager emphasised that focus must remain on immediate results rather than the transfer market. "We are near the places of the Champions League, but we are also near like eight teams behind us. So let's focus on the next game, just that. Our focus is to win the next game."

With Leeds visiting on Sunday, it appears Amorim wants his squad to prove themselves with the tools already at their disposal before any midseason reinforcements are considered.
