Casemiro Confirms Old Trafford Exit This Summer as United Plot Amad Future

Casemiro has put paid to speculation about a potential contract extension at Manchester United, making clear his time at Old Trafford will conclude when his deal expires this summer.

The Brazilian midfielder, who arrived from Real Madrid in the summer of 2023, has endured an eventful spell in English football. After periods where he appeared to be struggling with the pace of the Premier League, he has resurrected his form considerably this campaign and emerged as one of United's key performers.

Yet despite his recent revival, Casemiro remains resolute that his United chapter is closing. Speaking to ESPN Brazil, the 32-year-old dismissed any prospect of extending his stay.

"There's no possibility of staying one more year," he stated. "It's leaving through the big door. They were four beautiful, wonderful years, and I'm eternally grateful not only to Manchester United, but to the fans. But my cycle ended here."

The midfielder acknowledged the emotional weight of his impending departure, revealing his wife has already shed tears over the situation as supporters pleaded for him to remain. Casemiro expressed his intention to savour his final moments at the club whilst keeping his composure on his last day, before pledging his continued allegiance as a supporter once his playing days at United are complete.

His exit comes as MLS clubs circle, sensing an opportunity to land a world-class midfielder in the twilight of his career.

Amad to Stay Put at United

Whilst one door closes, another remains firmly open. Despite recent criticism of Amad Diallo's performances, Manchester United have no intention of parting company with the winger this summer, according to Football Insider and former Premier League chief scout Mick Brown.

Diallo has drawn scrutiny for his subdued displays of late, including a costly error in the Liverpool fixture, and has struggled to contribute meaningfully through either goals or assists. His place in the starting XI has also come under question following an inconsistent run of form.

However, Brown insists the club retain full confidence in the talented youngster. "A bit of a dip in form and a poor spell on the pitch doesn't make him a bad player, and Man United are very aware of that fact," Brown told Football Insider.

"Man United are happy with him and happy with how he has progressed. There are no plans at the moment to let him go, he still plays a big role in the squad and he's a valuable player to have around because he is very talented."

United's commitment to Diallo comes as the club continues its impressive resurgence under Michael Carrick, winning ten of their last fourteen matches to secure Champions League football for next season.
