Robson Urges United to Reconsider Casemiro's Departure

Bryan Robson has made an impassioned case for Manchester United to reverse course on Casemiro's exit, arguing the Brazilian midfielder remains integral to the club's ambitions.

With the Red Devils preparing to pursue fresh midfield talent ahead of summer, Casemiro's departure would ease the financial path. The 32-year-old is among United's highest earners and has already signalled his intention to leave when his contract expires.

Yet the Old Trafford legend believes the club should fight to keep him for another campaign. Speaking to BoyleSports, Robson outlined precisely why the midfielder remains invaluable.

"I would encourage Casemiro to stay," Robson said. "He's had a really good season this year. He's a top player with a great football brain. He's a really good passer of the ball, heads it well, and when he goes in to tackle, he means it."

The ex-United skipper pointed to Casemiro's pedigree as evidence of his enduring quality. "You don't stay at Real Madrid for the amount of years he did and win Champions League titles if you're not an absolute top player," Robson continued. "People see what you're really good at. So I think next season he could definitely give us a little bit more with his experience. He was great in Europe last year too."

United have opted against activating a one-year extension clause, effectively clearing the path for Casemiro's summer departure. The midfielder has since issued a heartfelt statement confirming the move.

"I will carry Manchester United with me throughout my entire life," Casemiro wrote. "From the first day that I walked out at this beautiful stadium, I felt the passion of Old Trafford and the love that I now share with our supporters for this special club.

"It is not time to say goodbye; there are many more memories to create during the next four months. We still have a lot to fight for together; my complete focus will, as always, remain on giving my everything to help our club to succeed.
