Liverpool Make Move for Leipzig's Geertruida as Iraola Eyes Defence Overhaul

Liverpool are pushing hard to land RB Leipzig right-back Lutsharel Geertruida this summer as incoming boss Andoni Iraola seeks to rebuild a backline that caused headaches throughout last season.

The Merseysiders' recruitment team have already begun discussions with Geertruida's representatives, with the club making their interest abundantly clear. The Dutch defender, currently returning from a loan spell at Sunderland, now faces a crucial decision as Liverpool circle.

Iraola's appointment came just over a week ago following the sacking of Arne Slot, marking a significant shift in direction for the club. "He's wanted by Liverpool and PSG," Romano explained on his Here We Go Podcast. "Both clubs are still in the mix. Liverpool are really pushing and really insisting to make it happen. For Liverpool, he's a top, top priority."
