Alisson Heading for Juventus Exit as Liverpool Prepare Mamardashvili Succession

Alisson Becker appears poised to end his Liverpool tenure, with the Brazilian stopper locked in serious talks over a switch to Juventus as the Merseyside club prepare for life beyond their world-class keeper.

The 31-year-old remains among the elite goalkeepers operating at the highest level, yet recurring injury troubles have significantly hampered his availability in recent seasons. Over the past three campaigns, he has failed to breach the 30-game mark in Premier League action, prompting Liverpool to take decisive action in the transfer market.

That preparation has already taken shape with the arrival of Giorgi Mamardashvili, the Georgian shot-stopper now positioned to assume the mantle of first-choice custodian should Alisson depart.

Juventus have emerged as the primary suitor for the former Roma man, with the Italian giants actively hunting a replacement between the sticks. Following earlier reports of a provisional understanding between the parties, journalist Ben Jacobs has now confirmed that substantive discussions are underway.

Jacobs revealed that Alisson remains receptive to the proposition whilst maintaining his characteristically professional stance. Much like Andy Robertson's January departure, the goalkeeper will only countenance a move that satisfies all stakeholders. With just twelve months remaining on his Anfield contract, this represents a final opportunity for Liverpool to recoup meaningful funds.

"Alisson does fancy that, and it would make sense as well. Liverpool have got the backup there that they're happy with and Alisson will go," former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness told Football Insider. "This is the last window they've got to try and get some value for him. There is value at that age for a good goalkeeper like that."

Wyness, drawing on conversations with agents familiar with the situation, indicated the deal has progressed beyond preliminary stages. "From what I've heard from the agents that I know, it does seem that it's in pretty advanced discussions right now, so I would expect him to be going," he added.

Should the move materialise, Mamardashvili will receive his opportunity to establish himself as Liverpool's long-term number one, with the club having conducted thorough due diligence on alternative options but maintaining confidence in their existing goalkeeping cohort.

There has been speculation linking Aston Villa's Emiliano Martinez as a potential contingency target, though Liverpool's hierarchy appear satisfied with their succession planning centred on Mamardashvili's elevation.
