The Reds have identified four high-profile managerial targets as part of their contingency planning, with the names in the frame being Crystal Palace's Oliver Glasner, Bournemouth's Andoni Iraola, Marseille's Roberto De Zerbi, and Porto's Francesco Farioli rounding out the list.

Slot has endured a torrid campaign following Liverpool's Premier League title triumph last season. Despite a substantial £400m investment in summer recruitment, the Dutch manager has overseen a dramatic deterioration in form and results. A nine-loss streak in twelve games proved particularly damaging, with critics suggesting the squad overhaul created an imbalance rather than strengthening the team. Key performers have largely disappointed, while Slot himself has come under fire for tactical missteps and questionable substitution decisions.

There are no immediate plans to dispense with Slot's services, and contract renegotiations have been placed on hold.
