He went on to emphasise that winning trophies—not merely scraping victories—should be the bare minimum expectation at Anfield, and stressed that "qualifying to next season's Champions League is the bare minimum."

This marked the second occasion this season that Salah has publicly jabbed at Slot's methods.

At his Friday press conference, Slot pushed back against the implications, suggesting Salah had been perfectly content with his tactical approach when silverware was on offer. "Mo was really happy with the style we played last year as it led to us winning the league," the Dutch manager insisted.
