Mohamed Salah's nine-year Liverpool tenure has come to an end, with the prolific winger departing Anfield on the final day of the Premier League season. Now, fresh reports suggest the Egyptian international has given his conditional approval to continue his career in Saudi Arabia.

According to the Marib Press, Salah has signalled his willingness to make the move east, but only if specific demands are met. The initial offer tabled fell short of his previous financial expectations before he last renewed his Liverpool contract, prompting the 32-year-old to lay down his marker.

Salah's trio of requirements are straightforward: a salary and benefits package befitting his standing and commercial value, a contract spanning two to three seasons to guarantee stability, and crucially, a destination club genuinely equipped to challenge for major honours rather than merely participate in the league.

The numbers tell the story of a player whose influence waned this term. Across 442 appearances for Liverpool, Salah accumulated 257 goals in all competitions, yet managed just 12 in 41 outings this season—a dramatic downturn that signalled the writing was on the wall. A heated clash with manager Slot in December fuelled speculation about his future, a hunch confirmed when Salah publicly announced his departure in March.

Lovren Takes Aim at Carragher

Dejan Lovren, Salah's former teammate, has hit out at television pundit Jamie Carragher for his recent barbs aimed at the departing star. Speaking to WinWin, the Croatian defender questioned the sudden shift in narrative, noting that Salah enjoyed eight or nine stellar seasons before this campaign turned sour.

Lovren suggested Carragher trades in attention-grabbing criticism rather than constructive analysis, and challenged him to air such grievances face-to-face with Salah rather than behind the safety of a broadcast desk. He also took aim at the broader treatment of the Egyptian, describing the handling of the situation as "disgusting."

The former defender pinpointed the relationship between Salah and Slot as the fundamental issue, contrasting it sharply with the bond he shared with predecessor Jürgen Klopp. Under Klopp, there existed genuine mutual respect and trust; under Slot, that connection fractured. Lovren suggested other players within the squad failed to rally around Salah when it mattered most, allowing the narrative to become entirely one-sided and leaving the winger feeling isolated despite his stellar pedigree.
