According to Plettenberg's reporting, the Reds have already held substantive discussions with the teenager, who is planning his summer departure from Hertha. The release clause sits somewhere between €10-12m, a modest outlay for a prospect of his calibre.

Manager Arne Slot reflected on a campaign he described as "very, very, very tough," pointing to the relentless injury toll his squad endured.
