The catch? A towering £130m release clause, set when Rayan joined the Cherries from Vasco da Gama just twelve months ago for around £30m. Nevertheless, Liverpool view the striker as integral to their medium-term attacking ambitions.

Meanwhile, the exit door at Anfield swings open for Gakpo. Dutch outlet Soccer News reports that the Netherlands international has made his intention to depart abundantly clear, having formally notified the club of his openness to a summer move.
