Barcola Signals Exit as Liverpool and Arsenal Circle PSG Winger

Bradley Barcola's time at Paris Saint-Germain appears to be reaching a crossroads, with the French winger having made his desire to depart abundantly clear to the club's hierarchy.

The 23-year-old has formally requested an exit from the Ligue 1 champions after finding himself increasingly sidelined in Luis Enrique's plans. Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Desire Doue have all leapfrogged him in the manager's pecking order, a frustration that has ultimately pushed Barcola toward the exit door.

Liverpool and Arsenal have both registered their interest in acquiring the winger's services, with the prospect of securing a player of Barcola's calibre sparking activity in the transfer market. For the Reds, he represents an intriguing option in their ongoing search for attacking reinforcements, whilst the Gunners view him as a potential upgrade on their current wide options.

Despite a respectable campaign that yielded 13 goals and seven assists across 49 appearances in all competitions during 2025/26, Barcola's lack of prominence in the Champions League's decisive moments proved to be the straw that broke the camel's back. His exclusion from both the semi-final and final of PSG's successful European campaign convinced him that the playing time he craves simply won't materialise at the Parc des Princes.

The impasse over fresh contract terms has only compounded matters. PSG have made little headway in negotiations over a new deal, with Barcola's existing agreement not expiring until 2028—hardly a pressing matter on the surface, yet clearly insufficient to persuade the player to commit his future to the club.

Valued in the region of €70.7 million, Barcola represents a significant asset, yet one that may command a slightly lower fee than fellow target Yan Diomande of RB Leipzig. Arsenal's interest in the PSG man extends beyond mere curiosity, with the north Londoners maintaining regular dialogue through representatives and signalling their readiness to pounce should circumstances shift.

PSG, for their part, continue to project an air of defiance publicly, insisting Barcola remains very much part of their long-term plans. Behind closed doors, however, there's little suggestion the club intends to facilitate an exit—though Arsenal remain determined to keep lines of communication open, prepared to act swiftly if the situation evolves.
