Varane's time at Old Trafford proved underwhelming on the fitness front. The 33-year-old defender, who accumulated 360 appearances across all competitions during his decade at Real Madrid, managed just 96 outings for United. He departed in summer 2024 for Como but was forced into retirement that September following a serious knee injury.

Cascarino suggested Isak's recurring issues—groin strains, hamstring twinges, calf problems—paint a worrying picture. While the Liverpool number nine hasn't suffered the catastrophic injuries that plagued his time at Newcastle, the pattern of niggles remains concerning. The key question, according to Cascarino, is whether Isak can finally string together an injury-free campaign.
