Klopp's Agent Shuts Down Real Madrid Speculation: "Nobody Has Contacted Us"

The rumour mill has been working overtime regarding Jurgen Klopp and Real Madrid, but his agent Marc Kosicke has poured cold water on the speculation by confirming there has been no contact between the club and his client.

Recent reports suggested the German tactician had already agreed to take the helm at the Bernabéu, complete with a shopping list of personnel demands. Those claims, it seems, are premature at best.

Klopp has been out of the dugout since departing Liverpool in 2024, ending a nine-year tenure that yielded major silverware including a Premier League title and Champions League crown. He has since stepped into the role of Global Sports Director at Red Bull, overseeing their portfolio of clubs worldwide.

"There is no need to answer questions about matters that are just rumours," Kosicke stated. "Nobody has contacted us at this time. Jurgen Klopp is very happy with his current role at Red Bull, and what is being said about negotiations to coach Real Madrid are just rumours for now."

Madrid's managerial situation took shape earlier this season when they parted ways with Xabi Alonso, promoting academy figure Alvaro Arbeloa to the position. The speculation around Klopp intensified as a result, particularly given his previous assertion that he would never manage another English club—a stance that leaves the Spanish capital theoretically open to him.

The reports linking Klopp to the job also included claims he had identified several targets for recruitment. Playmakers such as Adam Wharton, Alexis Mac Allister, Vitinha and Enzo Fernandez had supposedly caught his eye, whilst defenders Dani Carvajal and Eduardo Camavinga were mentioned as potential departures.

Whether any of these transfer considerations have genuine substance remains unclear. What is certain is that, for the time being, the Klopp-to-Madrid narrative remains firmly in the realm of speculation rather than concrete negotiation.
