Arsenal Tipped to Land Tzolis as Greek Journalist Backs Gunners Move

Arsenal appear to be in pole position to secure one of Europe's rising talents this summer, with a Greek journalist suggesting the north London side have considerably better odds than some observers might think.

Christos Tzolis, Greece's Footballer of the Year, has caught the eye of several top clubs following an explosive season at Club Brugge. The 22-goal, 28-assist campaign has naturally drawn admirers, with Arsenal among those watching closely. Morgan Rogers and Julian Alvarez have also been linked with moves to the Emirates, but Tzolis's output arguably surpasses both in the last campaign.

According to journalist Dimitris Manakos, Arsenal's interest runs far deeper than a casual scouting mission. Speaking to Voetbal Primeur, he indicated the Gunners have maintained long-standing surveillance of the Greek winger and represent the most serious threat to Brugge's hold on their prized asset.

"Arsenal is without a doubt the club that has received the most attention in recent weeks, and based on the available information, they are currently showing the greatest interest," Manakos explained. "I would be surprised if they were the only top club following Tzolis closely."

The journalist pointed to previous Premier League interest, noting that Crystal Palace had seen a substantial offer rebuffed last season, with other English sides also circling. Yet none, he argued, have built as compelling a case as Arsenal.

"I think Arsenal stands a better chance than many people in Belgium currently realise. This isn't just a club that comes to take a look every now and then. Arsenal has been following Tzolis for a long time and has enormous appreciation for what he has shown over the past twelve months," Manakos said.

With Club Brugge aware this could represent the optimal window for a marquee departure, and Tzolis himself surely tempted by the prospect of joining one of Europe's elite, the pieces appear to be aligning. Manakos believes if Arsenal press ahead with genuine intent, they hold all the necessary cards.

Beyond mere statistics, Manakos reckons the move suits Tzolis's profile and tactical development. The winger has already overcome a difficult spell at Norwich, and his versatility and tactical intelligence align neatly with Mikel Arteta's preferences for intelligent, adaptable attacking players.

"After everything he achieved last season, I don't know if he has much left to prove. He won trophies, performed in Europe, and grew into one of the best players in the league," Manakos noted. "The club's choice remains crucial, of course, because playing time and development must be guaranteed. But I think Arsenal suits him better than many people think."
