Ferdinand Urges United to Move Fast for Tchouameni as Private Contact Emerges

Rio Ferdinand has launched an impassioned appeal for Manchester United to pursue Aurelien Tchouameni with urgency, disclosing that he has engaged in private discussions with the Real Madrid midfielder.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ferdinand identified Tchouameni as the prime candidate to fill the void left by Casemiro's departure, urging the club to act decisively should the opportunity arise.

"If Tchouameni has even a hint of getting out of that club, Man Utd have to be the first team at the door knocking and make sure he can't even talk to anybody else," Ferdinand declared. "Get him signed, sealed, delivered."

The former United defender went further in his appeal, addressing Tchouameni directly: "I know we've had a few conversations in private, but man, I know you watch the show. Looking down the lens right now at you, there's only one club for you, man. If you're looking to leave Real Madrid, we are the club. Man Utd are the club. If you want to make it happen, make the call."

United's summer business has already seen them agree a £35m deal with Atalanta for Ederson, whilst they battle Tottenham for West Ham's Mateus Fernandes as their second midfield reinforcement. The club missed out on Elliot Anderson, who has completed a £116m transfer to Manchester City.

Transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Tchouameni represents United's ideal target this summer, though significant obstacles remain in place. Real Madrid have shown no inclination to facilitate his departure, whilst the midfielder's substantial wages at the Spanish capital pose a considerable financial hurdle.

"The problem of this deal is double," Romano explained. "One is that Real Madrid so far are yet to open doors to an exit of Tchouameni, so club-to-club. And then the salary because Aurelien Tchouameni is on a very big salary at Real Madrid, and for Manchester United to match that salary was not part of the plans."

Romano stressed United's genuine admiration for the player: "There is no doubt at all that Man Utd dream and love Aurelien Tchouameni. I can guarantee this. They super-appreciate the player and they consider him perfect."

Recent reports from Spain suggest Tchouameni has received an exceptionally attractive proposal from United, with the midfielder having confided in fellow France international Kylian Mbappé about the approach. Mbappé has reportedly urged Tchouameni to remain at the Bernabéu, though the midfielder is now seriously contemplating a Premier League move and has not ruled out a departure.

Tchouameni made headlines recently following an on-pitch altercation with Real Madrid teammate Federico Valverde at the close of the season.
