The search for Mohamed Salah's successor at Liverpool is already in full swing following the Egyptian's departure announcement this week, and the Reds have set their sights on a target that would certainly raise eyebrows on both sides of Stanley Park.

According to reports, Liverpool are seriously considering a summer raid on Everton for winger Iliman Ndiaye—a move that would represent a stunning show of ambition, though one the Blues are determined to block.

Salah's nine-year tenure on Merseyside came to an end this week, prompting the Anfield hierarchy into overdrive regarding his replacement. The shortlist of potential candidates reads like a who's who of European talent: Michael Olise, Yan Diomande, Anthony Gordon, PSG's Desire Doue and Bradley Barcola, plus Juventus' Francisco Conceicao have all been mentioned as possibilities.

Behind the scenes, contingency planning has been underway for considerably longer. The groundwork for identifying Salah alternatives reportedly began virtually as soon as he penned his new contract in April 2025, with Liverpool's decision-makers already deep into their due diligence on numerous targets.

The 26-year-old Senegal international has caught their attention in particular.
