Eight United Players Heading for the Exit: INEOS Eyes £100m+ Summer Clear-Out

Manchester United have earmarked eight players for summer exits as the club looks to fund an ambitious midfield rebuild and capitalise on their improved league position.

The Old Trafford outfit have undergone a marked transformation under interim manager Michael Carrick, who has won seven of his opening ten matches in charge. That upturn in fortunes has significantly improved their Champions League qualification odds, and a top-four finish would provide substantial financial firepower for the transfer window.

Offloading surplus squad members represents another avenue for bolstering the transfer kitty, with United identifying a batch of departures that could yield in excess of £100m.

Three players are already confirmed to be leaving on free transfers when their contracts expire this summer. Casemiro, despite impressing during the club's recent resurgence, will depart as a free agent despite previous speculation about a potential U-turn. Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia will follow him out the door on similar terms.

The remaining five exits are expected to come via permanent sales. Manuel Ugarte, Joshua Zirkzee, Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford are all lined up for moves away.

Ugarte and Zirkzee have barely featured this season, while Onana's status as first-choice goalkeeper has been undermined by summer arrival Senne Lammens. The Brazilian stopper is currently on loan at Trabzonspor.

Hojlund's departure appears largely settled. The striker joined Napoli on loan with a purchase option worth approximately £44m last summer and has rediscovered his form in Serie A, with the deal widely expected to become permanent.

Rashford's situation remains more fluid. The winger is currently on loan at Barcelona, who hold an option to buy him for around £26m. However, United are holding firm on their valuation and harbour confidence they could secure a higher fee elsewhere if Barcelona decline to meet their asking price.

Should Barcelona opt not to trigger their clause, Rashford will return to Carrington, but there is no indication United are planning for him to stay. The player, his representatives and the club are all understood to be working towards arranging a permanent departure from Old Trafford.
