Arsenal Target Christos Tzolis as Gunners Chase Record Belgian Transfer

Fresh from their Premier League title triumph and Champions League final appearance, Arsenal are making moves to strengthen their attacking options this summer. The Gunners have identified left-wing reinforcement as a pressing need, with Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta looking to add depth beyond current options Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli.

That search has led them to Club Brugge's Christos Tzolis. The 24-year-old Greek winger has emerged as a prime target for the north London club, who are in direct negotiations with the Belgian outfit over a potential 2026 summer transfer.

Berta is understood to be actively pushing to seal the arrangement, with Arteta giving his approval to the signing. The fee under discussion stands at £35million – a figure that would represent a record departure from the Belgian Pro League. The previous benchmark was set in 2022 when AC Milan paid Club Brugge £32.5million for Charles De Ketelaere.

Tzolis himself is reportedly eager to make the switch to the Emirates. The winger has tasted English football before during a stint at Norwich City and is keen on another opportunity in the Premier League.

His credentials are certainly compelling. Across the 2025/26 campaign, Tzolis operated primarily from the left flank for Club Brugge, racking up 22 goals and 29 assists across 52 appearances. He played a key role in their Belgian Pro League title win last season, and previously helped them capture the Belgian Cup during the 2024/25 campaign.

Arsenal's data team have long been admirers of the Greek talent, viewing this as a market opportunity that fits their strategic planning without disrupting other transfer priorities.
