Chelsea Field Bids for Chalobah as Delap Exit Looms

Chelsea are in full housekeeping mode this summer, with the west London outfit set to ship out several players as they grapple with financial constraints and the fallout from a disappointing 2025/26 campaign.

The Blues have already waved goodbye to Marc Cucurella, who's headed to Real Madrid, with Enzo Fernandez also linked with a move to the Spanish capital. But the departures aren't stopping there.

England centre-back Trevoh Chalobah looks set to follow suit, with Italian outfit Como having tabled an opening bid. The Serie A side have offered an initial €25m plus €2m in performance-related add-ons for the defender. Inter Milan have also registered interest, though Como appear to be leading the chase.

Chelsea, however, aren't biting just yet. The Stamford Bridge hierarchy are holding out for €30m upfront plus €5m in add-ons—a significant gap that suggests negotiations have some way to run. Chalobah, who's focused on World Cup preparation, remains a target for several Champions League clubs despite the gap in valuations.

Meanwhile, Liam Delap's brief Chelsea experiment appears to be coming to an end. The 23-year-old striker has struggled since his £30m arrival from Ipswich Town last summer, and a permanent exit now looks inevitable.

Everton have positioned themselves as frontrunners in the race for his signature, having made contact with Delap's representatives and submitted a formal offer. The Toffees are accelerating their pursuit, with multiple Premier League clubs circling should the Goodison Park move fail to materialise.

Chelsea are expected to sanction Delap's departure, accepting that the step up to a Big Six club came too soon for the young frontman's development.
