Liam Rosenior can breathe a sigh of relief at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea firmly backing their head coach despite an alarming dip in form over recent weeks.

A humbling 8-2 aggregate exit to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League has compounded matters, leaving Chelsea languishing in sixth place in the Premier League. Yet despite the gloom, the club has made clear that Rosenior's position remains intact.

According to reports, Chelsea's hierarchy considers the manager secure through the remainder of the season, with no formal review of his tenure planned until next year. Crucially, missing out on Champions League football would not be held against him, given he only arrived in January to replace the sacked Enzo Maresca.

The sole circumstance that could alter this stance would be a complete implosion in the final weeks of the campaign—something the club views as highly unlikely. With just 19 matches under his belt, Rosenior is being afforded time to turn things around.

The summer window, however, looms as genuinely consequential for Chelsea's trajectory. The club has identified three priority areas: securing at least one new centre-back, adding midfield reinforcement, and bolstering the forward line. A new goalkeeper remains under consideration.

Former Chelsea defender Wayne Bridge has weighed in on the rebuild, suggesting the priority should be a new keeper. "Chelsea have been spoiled with the goalkeepers they've had in the past, and I'd probably say they need a goalie," Bridge told 10Bet. He also emphasised the need for a commanding defensive leader to fill the void left by Thiago Silva's departure.

Bridge pointed to Arsenal's centre-back pairing of Saliba and Gabriel as examples of the calibre required, noting that title-winning sides are built on a solid defensive foundation—something Chelsea currently lack.
