Bayern Close Door on Jackson as Guiu Seeks Chelsea Exit

Bayern Munich have pulled the plug on any prospect of signing Nicolas Jackson on a permanent basis, according to reports from the Bavarian club's inner circle.

The 24-year-old striker arrived at the Allianz Arena on a loan deal that included a purchase option, with Bayern forking out a record loan fee to secure his services. Yet club bosses swiftly dampened talk of a permanent arrangement worth £70m back in September, and nothing has shifted since.

Jackson's Chelsea career had promised much. Over two seasons as the Blues' main attacking outlet, he netted 24 goals in 65 Premier League appearances. But his inconsistency and technical shortcomings saw his stock plummet following the summer arrivals of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, leaving him surplus to requirements in west London.

This season in the Bundesliga tells a similar story. The Senegalese forward has managed six goal involvements across 22 outings, yet has started just five league matches as he languishes behind Harry Kane in the pecking order. More damaging still, manager Vincent Kompany has reportedly overlooked him even when Bayern have held commanding leads.

According to CF Bayern Insider, the club's hierarchy have now formally concluded that Jackson has failed to convince and will not be pursuing a deal. The forward finds himself with no pathway forward at Bayern, leaving Chelsea to determine whether rehabilitation is possible back at Stamford Bridge.

The situation has cleared the way for Marc Guiu to assume the deputy striker role at Chelsea, though the 20-year-old Spaniard is far from content with his lot. Having started the campaign on loan at Sunderland, Guiu was recalled to free up funds for Jackson's transfer. Yet with just seven Premier League appearances to his name, the young forward has now formally submitted a transfer request.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Guiu recognises he has no meaningful role in Chelsea's plans and desperately needs regular football to progress at this stage of his development. The fierce competition for places in Chelsea's attack, combined with the club's tactical preferences, has left him languishing on the periphery. His representatives believe a fresh start elsewhere offers the best solution to his stalled development.
