Villa's Summer Spending Spree: Baturina Bid, Guirassy Interest, and PSG Raid in the Works

Aston Villa are plotting an ambitious recruitment drive this summer, with three high-profile targets now in their sights as they look to build on their exceptional season under Unai Emery.

The Midlands outfit finished fourth in the Premier League and claimed Europa League glory, but success brings its own complications—Morgan Rogers is already drawing admiring glances from Europe's elite, meaning Villa must strengthen if they're to maintain momentum.

Baturina Bid Escalates

Villa have made a formal offer for Como's attacking midfielder Martin Baturina, with their bid pitched between €50m and €55m, according to Italian sources. However, they're not alone in the hunt. Another unnamed English club has also tabled an offer, prompting Como to reassess their valuation—they now reckon the Croatia international is worth €80m. Leeds United had previously shown their hand back in January, when they reportedly offered €30m plus add-ons for the playmaker.

Guirassy and Fenerbahce Circling

German outlets claim Villa and Turkish outfit Fenerbahce are both seriously eyeing Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy. Despite speculation he could be tempted by a Saudi Arabian payday, the Guinea international is keen to remain at Europe's top table and wants clarity on his future sooner rather than later. Dortmund's sporting director Lars Ricken has made their position crystal clear, insisting: "We have no intention of letting him leave. He has impressively demonstrated his value to Borussia Dortmund over the last two seasons."

PSG Raid on the Horizon

Villa are reportedly on the verge of landing Ibrahim Mbaye from PSG, with French sources suggesting a deal is imminent. The club are also monitoring Lucas Chevalier, the Parisian goalkeeper, as they cast their net wide in the French capital.

Bogarde Contract Talks

Meanwhile, Emery is keen to tie down academy prospect Lamare Bogarde, despite interest from rival Premier League clubs. Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown revealed that the club rate him highly and are in discussions over fresh terms. "They rate him very highly at Aston Villa, the manager is a big fan of his, and that's why he's been involved more in the squad this season," Brown told Football Insider. "He hasn't been starting every week, but he's been a big part of the side and the success they've had in Europe especially."

Bogarde's limited appearances haven't gone unnoticed elsewhere, but Villa are determined to keep him around. "Villa don't want to see him go, they're speaking to him about a new contract and they hope they're going to be able to reach an agreement," Brown added. "Keeping the best academy graduates at the club is always a priority, it's something Villa want to prioritise because a lot of them have been allowed to move on."
