Abraham's Villa Move Complete: McKennie Next on Emery's Radar

Aston Villa are on the verge of landing Tammy Abraham, with the Besiktas loanee set to undergo his medical examination on Saturday to finalise his permanent switch to Villa Park. The deal, which sources indicate has already been agreed, will see the 28-year-old striker join on a four-and-a-half-year contract after Roma accepted a fee of €21million (£18.1m; $24.7m). Defender Yasin Ozcan will move in the opposite direction as part of the arrangement.

Abraham's arrival represents Villa's primary striking solution following Donyell Malen's departure to AS Roma, addressing what had become an urgent recruitment priority for the Midlands club.

Villa's transformation this season has been nothing short of remarkable. Having languished in the relegation zone early on, Unai Emery's charges have orchestrated a stunning climb to third in the Premier League table. They're also sat joint-top of their Europa League group phase, placing them firmly among the frontrunners for Champions League qualification. Fresh reinforcements make logical sense given their elevated ambitions.

Yet Abraham won't be the only incoming business occupying Emery's attention. With Boubacar Kamara sidelined for the remainder of the campaign, Villa's midfield cupboard has grown bare, prompting them to cast their net further afield.

Enter Weston McKennie. According to Italian reports, Villa are "crazy" about acquiring the American from Juventus, where he's chipped in with five goals and four assists this season. The Turin outfit's midfielder finds himself in the final months of his contract, creating an opening for interested parties.

La Liga clubs have also circled McKennie, but Villa possess a considerable advantage: the player is reportedly keen on a Premier League return. Should the Villans move decisively, they'll find themselves in pole position to land the former Leeds United man.
