Arteta Leads £100m Charge for Rogers as Arsenal Eye Third Summer Deal

Arsenal's summer spending plans are taking shape after landing their first Premier League title in two decades, with manager Mikel Arteta personally driving a move for Aston Villa's in-form Morgan Rogers.

The Gunners have already shifted Jakub Kiwior to Porto and Karl Hein to Werder Bremen as they look to balance the books following £250m worth of investment last summer. Now, with potentially eight players heading for the exit, Fabio Vieira appears set to join that departure list.

Hamburger SV are pulling out all the stops to keep the midfielder on a permanent basis, with talks having commenced between the German side and Arsenal. The Bundesliga club have reportedly made clear their ambition to build their team around the Portuguese midfielder, and Vieira is receptive to the idea—provided HSV can strike a deal with the Gunners.

Rogers on Arteta's Radar

When it comes to reinforcements, Rogers sits high on Arsenal's wishlist. The 23-year-old Aston Villa winger has been among Europe's standout attacking midfielders this term, contributing 14 goals and 12 assists. His form has already caught the attention of England, with a World Cup spot seemingly within reach.

However, Arsenal face a stern test in securing his signature. Manchester United view Rogers as their primary target, with technical director Jason Wilcox a noted admirer, while Chelsea are also circling. Paris Saint-Germain have previously monitored the situation, and Rogers has indicated openness to a move abroad.

Villa's valuation sits at a minimum of £80m, though a competitive bidding war is expected to inflate that to approximately £100m. Arsenal are ready to accelerate their pursuit, having already held preliminary discussions with the player's camp.

The Gunners' activity in the market could yet extend beyond Rogers, with a third deal edging closer to completion as Arteta looks to build on their title-winning campaign and mount a fresh Champions League challenge.
