Arsenal Circle Bournemouth Sensation Kroupi After Dazzling Displays Against Gunners

Mikel Arteta has his sights set on Bournemouth's breakout star Eli Junior Kroupi, the French teenager whose performances against Arsenal this season have left a lasting impression on the Gunners boss.

The 19-year-old has been nothing short of exceptional in his maiden Premier League campaign, plundering 11 goals to become just the fourth teenager ever to reach double figures in their first top-flight season. Only Robbie Fowler (Liverpool, 1993/94), Kevin Gallen (QPR, 1994/95), and Robbie Keane (Coventry City, 1999/00) have matched that achievement.

Most notably for Arsenal's recruitment team, Kroupi has scored twice against the Gunners this term. His most recent strike came in Bournemouth's 2-1 victory on April 11—a result that could yet prove decisive in the title race.

Arsenal's interest in landing a world-class striker this summer is well documented, with Victor Osimhen and Julian Alvarez among their primary targets. The financial burden of securing either would likely necessitate player sales, with Gabriel Martinelli potentially heading for the exit. Such a departure would leave Arteta requiring reinforcement on the left flank, making Kroupi an attractive prospect.

However, the Cherries hold a commanding negotiating position. Kroupi arrived at Bournemouth for just £10m in early 2025, following a loan spell back at Lorient to complete the 2024/25 season. His contract runs through 2030, and crucially, there is no release clause to provide any escape hatch for suitors.

Bournemouth's valuation has reportedly climbed to the £60m-£70m bracket, reflecting both his explosive form and the club's unwillingness to sell cheaply. Manchester City and Manchester United are also monitoring the situation, adding further pressure to any negotiation Arsenal might pursue.

Kroupi, capable of operating as both left winger and central striker, has caught the attention of English football's elite. Yet for now, he remains firmly under the control of the south coast outfit, who have little incentive to part with their prized asset at anything less than a premium price.
