Arsenal Eye £146m Newcastle Swoop for Tonali and Livramento

The Gunners are plotting a significant raid on St James' Park this summer, with Mikel Arteta keen to bolster his squad as Arsenal chase their first Premier League crown since the unbeaten 2003/04 campaign.

Currently perched nine points clear at the summit – potentially six if Manchester City play their game in hand – Arsenal have seven matches remaining. Whether silverware arrives this term or not, reinforcements are on the agenda, and Newcastle appear to be in the crosshairs.

The north London club have proven adept at raiding fellow Premier League outfits for talent, with David Raya and Declan Rice among their recent acquisitions. Now they're eyeing two Magpies stars who could be available for the right price.

Sandro Tonali sits top of Arsenal's wishlist, with the Italian midfielder attracting admiring glances from several quarters, including Manchester City and United. However, the Gunners are considered 'confirmed admirers' of the 24-year-old, and Newcastle face mounting pressure regarding his potential departure.

Alongside Tonali, Arsenal have also fixed their sights on right-back Tino Livramento. The defender's contract situation has stalled, with negotiations over fresh terms going nowhere – a situation that could prise open the door for suitors. Elsewhere at Newcastle, Lewis Hall and Anthony Gordon continue to attract attention from bigger clubs, though the Magpies are expected to demand premium fees – and not all will necessarily depart.

There's also been speculation regarding Guimaraes and United, though it's understood this caught Newcastle somewhat off-guard. Should Tonali be the midfielder given the green light, it could prove the decisive factor in Arsenal's pursuit of the double deal.
