Morgan Rogers is prepared to consider a move to Arsenal in the forthcoming transfer window, despite competing interest from Manchester United, according to reports.

The Aston Villa forward finds himself firmly on the Gunners' radar as Mikel Arteta plots an attacking refresh following their Premier League title triumph—Arsenal's first in 22 years. Saturday's Champions League final loss to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties in Budapest has only intensified the desire for reinforcements, with a striker and left-winger identified as priority additions.

Rogers, who typically operates in a number ten role but possesses the flexibility to drift left or lead the line, is one of three primary targets. Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez carries a hefty £120m price tag with Barcelona also keen, whilst Bournemouth's Eli Junior Kroupi would command fees exceeding £80m. Rogers himself is expected to require investment north of £80m.

The 23-year-old England international is believed genuinely receptive to joining the north London club, though complications abound. Villa, with five years remaining on Rogers' contract, remain determined to keep their prized asset. More problematic still is Middlesbrough's 20 per cent sell-on clause, which would complicate any prospective transaction.

Observers expect Rogers to depart Villa Park this summer, yet the Midlands club's strong contractual position provides them considerable leverage. The Athletic's Jacob Tanswell reported: "There is an expectation from multiple observers that Morgan Rogers will leave #AVFC this summer. But senior club sources state they are intent on keeping the 23yo & with five yrs left on his contract, are in a strong position to do so."

Questions have surfaced regarding whether Rogers genuinely represents a priority for Arsenal, given Martin Odegaard and Eberechi Eze already occupy the creative attacking spaces. However, his capacity to operate across the forward line—particularly from the left—could prove valuable in Arteta's system.

Manchester United's monitoring of the situation adds another layer to proceedings, ensuring the competition for Rogers' signature will intensify as summer unfolds.
