Arsenal Eyeing £86m Juventus Winger Yildiz as Romano Reveals Transfer Progress

Mikel Arteta's spending plans are gathering pace, with Arsenal reportedly willing to fork out £86m to land Juventus winger Kenan Yildiz as their marquee summer signing.

The Gunners have signalled their intent to mount a serious assault on the transfer market this window, with reports suggesting they could match or even surpass the £250m they invested last summer. David Ornstein recently outlined the scale of their ambitions, highlighting gaps across multiple positions that need addressing.

"The left-sided attack is a big priority," Ornstein explained. "They've been looking at it for a few years, and I think this may be the summer where they really go for something. They've got the options there."

Beyond the left wing, Arsenal are also targeting reinforcements in the number nine position, a defensive midfielder, and right-back cover. Ornstein's assessment suggests the north London outfit could easily replicate or exceed their previous transfer spending when all these requirements are factored in.

Yildiz has emerged as Arteta's primary target on the left flank, with journalist Sacha Tavolieri claiming the Turkish winger represents the club's "dream" acquisition. While nothing concrete has been agreed with the World Cup still ongoing, Arsenal have formulated a plan to bring the Juventus talent to the Emirates, prepared to invest around €100 million (£86m) to make it happen.

However, the Gunners aren't putting all their eggs in one basket. Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Arsenal are running parallel operations across the attacking department. Club Brugge's Christos Tzolis is among their radar as a potential alternative, with sources suggesting a deal could be struck for approximately €40 million (£34.5m). Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers continues to feature prominently in their thinking, alongside other unnamed targets.

Leicester City's Jeremy Monga represents a separate avenue of business, with Romano noting that discussions surrounding the young talent remain "advancing" independently of their winger pursuits.

The flurry of activity represents a significant shift in approach, particularly given that some observers had assumed Arsenal might need to trim their cloth after last summer's spending spree. Yet Ornstein's revelation that the club possesses the financial firepower to exceed previous outlays suggests the hierarchy remains bullish about their title ambitions heading into the new campaign.
